Spent the summer working at Happyland fun fair Southport, culmenating in working for the site engineer fixing rides. |

After a brief flirtation filling shelves, I moved on to working for Charlie Irving, cutting leather to make dog leads, collars and more interestingly whips!
I also helped him build his own house which has given me a desire to try building my own home, one day. |

Having tried my hand at leather working, I turned to something that had interested me since I was a child, and started driving for a living, initially for an electrical wholesaler delivering cable and plugs, laterlly driving my own three and half ton van delivering anything from property papers to washing machines and pallets of bricks |

As a member of Southport sub aqua club, I enjoyed the roles of entertainment officer, equipment officer and conducted many training sessions. |

During the quiet times in the transport business, I developed a sideline doing lawn maintenance which provided a good income during the summer. |

Having not really made my fortune in transport or horticulture, I followed Norman Tebbits advice got on my bike (well car actually) and went south to Salisbury. There I affected my best Yosser Hughes accent and said "giza job". Which proved very effective. In short succession I was employeed as a film processor, tyre fitter and lastly I entered the world of computing with United Kingdom Provident Society, as a print operator. |

With UKP being taken over by Friends Provident, I moved north to Nantwich and joined NWM Computers who provided back office services for stockbrokers, where I was employed as an operator. |

Two and half years later you find me joining Henkel Ltd, at there Winsford Cheshire site as a computer operator. Along the way moving to network operator, support analyst and senior support analyst roles before I was made redundant. |

Got involved with the Elephants at Chester Zoo, along the way with my wife and fellow members of the zoo we raised over £50000, to be used for the good of the Elephants there. |

2000 - 2006 |

Elected to the Council of the North of England Zoological Society, aka Chester Zoo. Saw the Zoo go through some quite interesting times from the threat of closure due foot and mouth disease, to the point where it is planning to become one of the biggest tourist attractions in the UK with its development as a "Super Zoo" |

Back to the hum drum world of developing peoples holiday snap, part time as I searched for work. |
